Peggy Anne Salz

Journalist, Researcher, Analyst, Writer Forbes & Harvard Business Review & Lead Analyst, Mobile Groove

Malene Barnett

Founder, Black Artists & Design Guild

Malene started her design career in the rug industry before creating her own line of bespoke carpets in 2009. Since then, her company, Malene B, has grown to include her painting and ceramics. Her recent work in clay led to an artist-in-residence program at Greenwich House Pottery, where she created hand-built vessels inspired by mud-house designs in West Africa. She is an artist, activist, and authority on the cultural traditions and practices of art in the African diaspora and how it translates into her vision of the modern black experience.


Jordan Crook

Managing Editor, TechCrunch

Jordan writes about internet culture, social networks, and consumer-facing technology. Jordan leads programming on TechCrunch’s flagship event, the world-renowned Disrupt Conference. You may recognize her from her appearances hosting that event and moderating panels and fireside chats. She also has written for publications such as Mobile Marketer and MobileBurn.


Aileen Lee

Founder & Managing Partner, Cowboy Venture

Aileen is a U.S. seed investor and venture capital investor. She coined the often-used Silicon Valley term “unicorn” in TechCrunch article, “Welcome To The Unicorn Club: Learning from Billion-Dollar Startups” as profiled in The New York Times. A unicorn is generally defined as a privately held startup that has a $1 billion valuation or more – something rare (like a unicorn). Cowboy Ventures is one of the first female-led venture capital firms. Over the past six years, Cowboy Ventures has received three large funds, the most recent reaching $95 million.


Pariss Athena

Creator, #BlackTechTwitter & Founder, Black Tech Pipeline

Pariss created the Black Tech Pipeline newsletter which focuses on the existing Black community in Tech. It brings exposure, resources, and opportunities to Black technologists. Pariss began her career as a front-end developer after graduating from Resilient Coders. She works for G2i as a hiring and platform member- vetting engineers as an engineer, and taking lead on social media marketing efforts.


Catherine Davis

Catherine is a results driven marketing and communications leader who builds brands and creates innovative new models to drive top line revenue growth. She has experience in CPG, retail, financial, luxury, non-profit, and online businesses. Catherine has demonstrated success in leading transformative marketing initiatives and developing and integrating digital strategies.

Catherine was chosen as one of Advertising Age’s Women to Watch 2018, Advertising Age’s 2015 Media Mavens, Adweek’s 2014 Media All-Stars, and Forbes‘ 100 Must-Follow Marketing Minds to Follow on Twitter.
