Candice Lee
Athletic Director, Vanderbilt
Candice is Vanderbilt’s first female athletic director and the first African American woman to head an SEC athletics program. Lee has served as an integral leader at the university and in athletics for almost 20 years, most recently serving as deputy director of the program, a role she was appointed to in 2016. She has also served as the department’s senior woman administrator since 2004.
In addition to her responsibilities of overseeing the day-to-day operations of the athletics department, she is also the sport administrator for the football and women’s basketball programs.
Erica Joy Baker
Director of Engineering, GitHub
Erica is an engineer manager in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is known for her outspoken support of diversity and inclusion. Erica has worked at companies including Google, Slack, Patreon, and Microsoft. She was also named a “Woman To Watch” in a profile for C Magazine.
Chia-Lin Simmons

Chia-Lin is passionate about delivering cutting edge technologies that change people’s lives. From pre-seed startups to Fortune 50 companies (Google, Amazon), she continues to be an early leader in AI, IoT (connected car, connected home, wearables), mobile, e-commerce, digital media, gaming, social media, etc. Chia-Lin is active in automotive tech, has launched a Connected Car product into millions of vehicles globally and is an advisor in the auto tech and emerging tech space.
Amanda Goetz
VP of Marketing, The Knot
Amanda is a VP of Marketing with 14+ years experience building and launching products. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 3.5 years, summa cum laude in the top 10% of the College of Business. Amanda is now the VP of Consumer & Product Marketing at The Knot Worldwide, the world’s #1 wedding brand and online marketplace for couples and wedding professionals. She manages a team of both mobile and desktop product marketing managers and owns brand positioning across owned, earned, and paid marketing channels.
Martine DeVoe
Sr. Human Resources Business Partner, Amazon
Martine is supporting 1000 associates at Amazon Logistics Delivery Station and partnering directly with site leaders on culture, engagement, hourly staffing plans, leadership development, succession-planning, and driving proactive work to achieve strong people-related metrics. She is also responsible for talent management, investigations, employee relations, and labor planning. Martine runs data analytics reports to understand trends and problems, in order to create solutions for the business. She also coaches managers to improve their leadership abilities, and problem-solving to address urgent or unanticipated challenges and working to find long-term sustainable solutions.
Dr. Courtney Cogburn
Associate Professor, Columbia University
Courtney employs a transdisciplinary approach to examining the role of racism in the production of racial inequalities in health. She is on the faculty of the Columbia Population Research Center and a faculty affiliate of the Center on African American Politics and Society and the Data Science Institute. The National Institutes of Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Brown Institute for Media Innovation at the Columbia School of Journalism have supported her work.
Denise Brasse
Director of Program Content at Argentum
Denise is experienced in growth initiatives such as new products and services, product differentiation and pricing strategies, and winning partnerships. She enjoys content development and content program design. Collaborative vision-setting and thinking strategically about the customer experience are the keys to Denise’s success. Her business acumen, energy, passion, and creativity make her an effective senior team member and change agent.
